Samsung Z3 vs. Samsung Galaxy J2 Specs, Features, Price Comparison: Which is the Better Buy?

Techies everywhere are looking at the latest Samsung devices out on the market, the Samsung Z3 and the Samsung Galaxy J2, and thinking about which one is right for them. While these handsets are available at the same price, what's left is a look at the specs and features of each device before making a decision.

Starting off with the displays, the Samsung Z3 device packs a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD with a resolution of 1280Ã—720 and 294 ppi. On the other hand, the Galaxy J2 has a smaller 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 960Ã—540 and 234 ppi.

With regards to processors, the Z3 has a Spreadtrum quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, while the J2 has a Exynos 3475 quad-core processor clocked at the same 1.3GHz.

Moving into cameras and battery power, the Samsung Z3 has an 8MP back end snapper with LED flash, and a 5MP one on the front. The Galaxy J2 has a 5MP camera on the back with both autofocus and LED flash, and a 2MP camera on the front. The Z3 has a bigger battery with 2600 mAh, while the J2 has a 2000 mAh battery.

One defining factor between these two devices is that the Samsung Z3 runs on the Tizen 2.4 operating system, while the Galaxy J2 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. This is evidently a major factor in which device a consumer would buy if they were torn between the two.

Stepping into RAM and storage, both devices rank the same as they both has 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. Both devices can be expanded up to 128 GB by means of microSD card slot.

The last thing to consider when deciding which device is right, is connectivity. The Samsung Z3 functions on 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and microUSB 2.0, while the Samsung Galaxy J2 supports 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, microUSB 2.0 as well as USB OTG.

In the end it's ultimately up to the consumer which device suits their needs best. However, he or she should always consider which specs they want with their device, especially in a scenario such as this where both devices are priced the same.
