Samsung Season 9 2015 Edition Ultrabook Release Date, Specs Rumors: New Budget-Friendly Device
Not long ago, techies were talking about Ultrabooks, and how they were possibly designed to combat Apple's super thin MacBook Air on the market, but that has since become old news. While the Ultrabook has seemingly become a thing of the past, Samsung is apparently set to release their new Series 9 2015 Edition Ultrabook at CES 2015.
According to Samsung Tommorrow, a Korean-language blog (interpreted by ZdNet), there's a good chance that the company will be unveiling their new take on the Ultrabook.
Moreover, the device will follow the footsteps of the devices that precede it, as it will also be a budget-friendly device. In regards to its design, it's also expected to be rather thin and light, in an effort to keep the Ultrabook super portable.
Stepping into the rumored specs of the device, reports are saying that the device will feature a 12.2-inch display and weigh roughly 2 lbs. However, there's also word that the Series 9 2015 Edition Ultrabook will be less powerful than the models before it.
ZdNet says that the device will pack a new Intel Core M-5Y10c Broadwell processor instead of the possible Core i5 and i7 options. Clearly, the budget-friendly aspect of the device is something that Samsung is focusing on.
In regards to other specs of the new and upcoming Samsung Ultrabook, the model will be available with 8GB RAM, and a 256GB solid-state drive.
Last but not least, one of the features that fans of Ultrabooks are going to be looking forward to with this new model, is its long lasting battery life. Thanks to the power saving mode taken from the Samsung Galaxy S5, the company claims that the new Series 9 2015 Edition Ultrabook boasts 12 hours of battery life.
On a side note, the device will come with Windows 8.1, and there's a good chance that it will be showcased at CES 2015. The upcoming event will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 6 to January 9 next year.
