Samsung Gear VR 2 Release Date News, Rumors: New Edition Of Headgear Set To Release Soon?

The Samsung Gear VR 2, or a new edition of the original device, may be launched sooner than expected, at least based on speculations following a listing by an Indian importer.

Wareable shared the news about Zauba listing import data SM-R323 which it said could refer to the Samsung Gear VR 2.

It noted that the original was listed as R320 and the successors were the R321 for the present version of the Gear VR and the R322 for the Innovator Edition for the Galaxy S6.

In related news, Venture Beat reported that there's a number of reasons why Samsung has to introduce the Gear VR 2.

For example, the current model does not feature positional tracking. One of the ways to do this is to create a much lighter headset. Another is the report about Samsung Gear VR 2 being mated to Google's Daydream.

Meanwhile, people who want to buy a Samsung Gear VR but cannot afford the hefty price tag should probably check out the ongoing Amazon's Prime Day deals.

CNET shared the news about Amazon listing the Samsung VR Gear for just $49.95 or half of the shelf price of $99 for the virtual reality device.

It also added that Best Buy is also selling the headset for just $56.99 so also don't forget to check out the retail chain.
