Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Update: Next-Gen Tablet Versions Rumored to be in Works, Summer Release Expected
Latest reports claim that the next-gen versions of Samsung's Galaxy Tab S series are currently in the works and the devices may be launched this Summer.
SamMobile says that the South Korean tech giant currently prepping up to develop two variants of the next-gen Galaxy Tab S. According to the Samsung-centric blog site, the two models bear numbers SM-T710 and SM-T810, while the earlier models of the product line were numbered SM-T700 and SM-T800.
Since there is a minor change in the model numbers of the upcoming devices, it is believed that the tablets will also feature a minor update. In fact, already the specs and features of the Galaxy Tab S tablets are somewhat superb, especially for the mid-range market. Nevertheless, the earlier versions of Galaxy Tab S are run with Samsung's own Exynos 5420 and does not support the quad HD screen display. Hence, it is believed that this time the South Korean tech firm is likely to update the tablet with a more powerful chipset.
In addition to the latest lower range tablets, there are reports that the company is also currently working on high-end slates. According to reports, Samsung is also in the process of developing the new generation devices of the company's Galaxy Tab, Tab PRO, Note, and Note PRO tablet lines, which may also be released soon.
According to earlier rumors, the Galaxy Tab SM-T35x as well as the Galaxy Note SM-P35x will come with 7-inch screen displays; while the Galaxy Tab SM-T55x and the Galaxy Note SM-P55x will sport 10.1-inch displays each. According to some reports, the upcoming tablets are likely to feature 4:3 aspect ratios - something similar to the screen resolution of the iPads.
Moreover, there rumors that the upcoming 10.1-inch tablet will incorporate an entry level Snapdragon 410 SoC paired with 64-bit architecture. It is also rumored to rum with Google's latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, and be available at a price starting at $350. On the other hand, the smaller tablet is likely to pack a quad-core "Spreadtrum SC8830" processor clocked at 1.2 GHz together with 1 GB of RAM. It will with Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS and will be available for $100.
