Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Specs News: Next Smartphone Capable Of AI?
The Samsung Galaxy S8 rumors allege that it has machine-learning capabilities, which would be miles ahead compared to its predecessor.
What prompted the rumors is the acquisition of Samsung of Viv. While not many people are familiar with the name, it's actually founded by one of the brains behind Siri.
But then Viv founder Dag Kittlaus said Siri is just the blueprint from which later voice assistants can evolve.
"The more you ask of Viv, the more it will get to know you," he said. "Siri was chapter one, and now it's almost like a new Internet age is coming. Viv will be a giant brain in the sky."
Even the launch of Google Assistant, with its potential for artificial intelligence, painfully underscored how old Siri has become. According to the article, Viv is one of the pioneers of gadget integration of machine learning, and that could only mean good news for the Samsung Galaxy S8.
There's no release date yet for the smart phone, but rumors are saying that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched early next year following the Note 7 scandal.
Among the rumors being circulated by tech news sites is that the screen-to-body ratio of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is about 90%, which means an almost bezel-less display. In terms of specs, the device is reported to run Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 and Exynos 8895 Octa, mated to 6GB of RAM and internal storage of either 64 or 128GB. It supposedly have a 5.1-inch display with Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and resolution or 1440 x 2560 pixels (~576 ppi pixel density).
