Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Rumors Update: New Flagship Boasts 4K Display and Long Battery Power?
The rumors about Samsung working on the next flagship, the Galaxy S8, already started just when the South Korean company just dropped the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Here are some of the details that we culled so far.
The next Samsung phone could be powered by the Snapdragon 830 or Exynos 5 Octa, or if there's going to be another next-gen processor after that.
According to Mobi Picker, the news and rumors have hinted of 6GB of RAM for the Samsung Galaxy S8, and that's not exactly quite an innovation since some mobile phones now already features that much memory.
"As for the storage, we expect faster internal storage with capacity of up to 256GB, and the microSD slot will hopefully stay," it said. "As for the display, we think the S8 will carry a slightly larger, possibly a 5.5"³ Super AMOLED screen."
While the S7 boasts of a 3000mAh battery, the rumors alleged that the Samsung Galaxy S8's could even feature a bigger battery, possibly 3400mAh, without compromising on the thickness.
On the other hand, if Samsung is going to make a big impact, it has to go for the 4K display on the Galaxy S8, said Digital Spy.
"Samsung has already confirmed it's working on such tech, with next year's flagship having been tipped as a launch platform for eye-melting goodness," it added.
As for the release date, it's too early to say for now especially since everybody is just sharing around the rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S8. Nevertheless, Tech Radar claimed that if the company has to do it, it can release the new flagship probably during the MCW 2017, which is scheduled between Feb. 27 and Mar. 2.
