Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge Release Date News, Rumors: Devices Launch in Jan. 2016 to Fend Off Apple iPhone 6s?
Samsung users everywhere are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the company's latest flagship smartphone models the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge, but are disappointed as there is no official release date slated. However, going by rumors that have been circling the net, both devices are reportedly looking at release dates in January 2016.
While nothing can be said for certain at the moment, a move like this from Samsung makes sense as the devices would serve to pull attraction from the Apple iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. Some techies feel that Samsung originally tried to combat Apple on the market with their recent Galaxy Note 5 phablets, however those didn't really compare with regards to device power.
Latinos Post reports that Samsung was set to launch the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge in February 2016, but moved up the date one month. Some say that the date of the release will be close to the upcoming Mobile World Congress event, but again nothing is set in stone.
Stepping into what users of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge can expect, some interesting features come to play. For example the Galaxy S7 might come in two variants a 5.2-inch screen model and a 5.7-inch screen model, says Value Walk. The report goes on to mention that one of the variants will come with a dual edge display but that's just speculation at the moment.
Moving into some of the hardware, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge will run on Exynos 7880 and Exynos 7659 chips, respectively, and support the latest Android Marshmellow 6.0 mobile operating system.
Beyond that, rumors go on to mention that the aforementioned devices may not be the only gadgets released from the Samsung stable come January 2016. Reports claim that a third foldable smartphone codenamed "Project Valley," might get some attention.
All in all, while Samsung has not yet announced any specific release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge, fans can be sure that they will launch them in the near future.
