Samsung Galaxy S5, the latest smartphone released by the South Korean tech titan, was overwhelmed in the market by other devices with superior features, resulting in a drastic fall in the company's sales. Now, Samsung is looking forward to its upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 to restore its foothold in the global smartphone market.

According to rumors circulating on the Internet, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S6, the successor of Galaxy S5, at the Mobile World Event Congress that is scheduled for Feb 15, 2015. As of now, very little is known about the Galaxy S6, but some consumers are certain that the device will be released soon.

In fact, KpopStarz quoted Sundar Pichai, Samsung President (Android and Chrome) confirming that the new device will incorporate Android OS, despite the fact that the latest Samsung operating system Tizen is already available.

While, Pinchai did not divulge any details regarding the Samsung Galaxy S6, fans have been speculating what the upcoming device may have to offer. It is believed that compared to the Samsung Galaxy S5, the upcoming device will be a highly advanced smartphone that will once again consolidate the South Korean smartphone manufacturer's position in the market.

There are rumors that the Galaxy S6 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor supporting 32-bit and 64-bit in addition to a huge 4 GB RAM. A report by Master Herald said that the device will not have a display larger than 5 inches, while Latino Post reported that the Galaxy S6 will come with a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display in addition to an impressive resolution of 4K (2160 x 3840 pixels).

In addition, instead of the typical plastic exterior, the Galaxy S6 will come in an aluminum finish, giving it a premium look.

The camera of Galaxy S6 is expected to be one of the bigger changes - from the 16-megapixel shooter inbuilt the Galaxy S5, the upcoming smartphone will sport a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera. However, the incorporation of an Iris Scanner will be the major breakthrough in Galaxy S6. This particular feature will replace passwords and log-ins to access the device with just the eye contact of the user. A recent report claims that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will also boast a heart sensor and a UV sensor, revamped battery life in addition to a fingerprint scanner.
