Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Faster Device than Apple iPhone 6?
New reports are surfacing about the Samsung Galaxy S6, as photos of the device have allegedly leaked through to an Iranian tech website.
The pictures showed the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4. The blurry photos featured the front and back part of the device in three different colors. Another leak emerged, claiming that a Samsung Galaxy S6 with model number SM-G920F was sent to India for testing.
The new handset will reportedly have a 5.5-inch Full HD screen display and metal casing. Rumors claimed that the processor will be Qualcomm 20nm Snapdraon 810 chipset or octa core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture.
Samsung Galaxy S6 will reportedly have 4GB RAM and will have Android 5.0 Lollipop as its operating system. It may have an expandable storage and may come in 32GB and 64GB storage variants.
As for the camera, reports say it will have 16-megapixel rear camera and 3.1-megapixel front camera. In addition, it will reportedly have a longer battery life than previous Galaxy devices.
Added features rumored to be found on the device are a fingerprint scanner for security, heart rate monitor, and a curved screen as seen on the Galaxy Note Edge.
With the promise of high tech specifications and new features, Samsung Galaxy S6 will reportedly win over the iPhone 6. One advantage of the S6 is the 2-4GB RAM while iPhone 6 has only 1GB. The actual amount of RAM has not yet been confirmed, but it will most probably be higher than Apple's latest handset.
Since the Galaxy S5 already has more pixels than iPhone 6, fans can expect that S6 will be even better. Aside from that, S6 will reportedly have a faster Wi-Fi connection.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has the Broadcom BCM4358 chip inside it that can transfer data up to 650 MB per second. The iPhone 6 has BCM4339 WiFi chip that can transfer up to 433 MB of data per second.
Naturally, the next Samsung device will have similar or higher Wi-Fi chip, which means that it will still be faster than the iPhone 6.
As for the release date, speculations say that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on March 2-5, 2015.
