Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date Rumors: New Smartphone To Hit Stores Three Weeks After Launch?

A document recently leaked on the Internet claims that no employee of Samsung will be allowed to go on vacation or take sick leave between March 22 and 30. Phone Arena, which obtained the document, says this could be a hint regarding the timing when the South Korean smartphone manufacturer's upcoming flagship handset will hit the stores.

IB Times reports that Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S6 at a press event on March 1 at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, as the company has already sent out invites, which includes the profile of a uniquely curved device, for the event.

Going by Samsung's previous records, the company's flagship smartphones hit the stores about a month after they are announced. For instance, Samsung announced its current flagship device - the Galaxy S5, on Feb. 24 lat year and hit stores on April 11. The report suggests that these dates may also be applicable for the Galaxy S6, but there is no confirmation in this regard from the South Korean tech firm yet.

Generally, manufacturers want to have all hands available during the early days of making the new smartphone available and also prevent employees from taking any kind of leave. For instance, tech firms like Apple are said to announce "blackout dates" during the period when a new phone is launched.

The leaked document also suggests a second set of dates - from April 19 to April 27, which, Phone Arena predicts, could be the time when the supposed curved-display Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge may be released.

Even as Samsung is gearing up for the next big smartphone launch, the rumor mill is busy churning out new stories every day. Recently, SamMobile claimed that it has come to learn that the software features of Samsung Galaxy S6 may undergo a major overhaul. Earlier reports hinted that the upcoming device may come without several bloatware features and they are likely to resemble Google's original Android software. However, it is expected that the users will have the option to download those apps separately. In addition, the upcoming smartphone may feature several new physical features.

It is also expected that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will feature third-party apps like Microsoft OneNote, OneDrive, Office Mobile (with a free Office 365 subscription) and Skype.
