Samsung Galaxy S6 News, Rumors: Device Price Leak, Verizon Announces Preorder Start Date
It's no surprise that Samsung keeps its information about its devices tightly sealed. However, eager phone carrier companies as well as fans of the company's phones will spread information faster than Samsung can keep up with. On that note, the price of the Samsung Galaxy S6 was supposedly leaked. One phone carrier, Verizon, also leaked information about the phone's preorders launch date.
During a contest provided by T-Mobile, the price of the Galaxy S6 was announced. One lucky winner would receive the newest edition of the Galaxy family on the day it launches. The price was valued at $699. In previous contests held by T-Mobile, the entry-level 32 GB version was usually awarded. It is expected that the Galaxy S6 giveaway will be the same.
The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will both cost around the same price, with the S6 Edge speculating to be a little bit pricier. According to Computerworld, the Galaxy S6 will retail at £699 in Spain. Between the U.S. and Europe that price of the new phones will have a difference of about $100.
US phone carrier Verizon announced that it will have both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge available on April 1, nine days earlier than expected release dates for other carriers.
Samsung has yet to officially confirm the price leaked by T-Mobile and the early release date provided by Verizon. There has been no word from AT&T and Sprint about pricing or early launch dates.
According to Tech Times, Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge already have 20 million preorders. 15 million are for the S6 and 5 million are for the S6 Edge. The news of the preorders comes to Samsung with relief as they have been behind their rival company, Apple, for a while.
