Samsung Galaxy S6 20MP Camera Rumors: New Device Packs OIS Camera & Exynos Processor?
There seems to be no end to the rumors related to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 - the next generation flagship from the South Korean tech manufacturer. The latest news that appeared via ET News claims that Samsung Electro-Mechanics, a subsidiary of Samsung, is working to develop a 20-megapixel camera offering optical image stabilization (OIS).
GSM Arena says that while Samsung has always used the services of Sony for its cameras, it now appears that the Galaxy S6 will change this, as the South Korean tech firm is reportedly making its own camera. Meanwhile, Tech Times reports that Samsung is now keen to do away with products from third party companies for its upcoming devices. In fact, it is likely that most of the internal components of Samsung S6 will also be made by Samsung itself.
In addition, there are rumors that the South Korean tech firm is planning to use Exynos processors to power its upcoming Galaxy S6, instead of utilizing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. However, Tech Times claimed that despite Samsung's move in this regard, Qualcomm will continue to be as adamant as it is.
Tech Times further said that it is prudent for Samsung to use its own processor for Galaxy S6. In fact, Samsung made the decision to use Exynos processors for the Galaxy S6 following reports of overheating issues that plagued the latest Snapdragon unit. However, it is expected that Samsung will be using the Qualcomm processors for its other forthcoming releases.
BGR, on the other hand, cites its "trusted source" claiming that the Galaxy S6 will be equipped with a 64-bit eight-core 14nm CPU. It appears that this unit is so powerful that it can make the device function about 50 percent faster.
As of now, it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be unveiled alongside a dual-edged variant during the Mobile World Congress on March 2.
