According to Demanjo, Verizon is the first carrier to announce the rollout of the system update to Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy S5. It is anticipated to shoot the Android operating system way beyond Apple by skyrocketing past the functionality of other smartphones and tablets. The new operating system connects to other Android services that are wired in to things like cars, TVs, and even wearables. It also allows for better access to apps.

Demanjo also reported that the update was already announced to be released in the United Kingdom and other European and Asian countries in January. Usually Verizon is one of the last carriers to hop on board with the Galaxy updates but this time, Verizon beat all the other carriers to the finish line by offering the update to its customers first.

Along with the Samsung Galaxy S5 Android Lollipop update comes a line of new features that make it more user friendly. The update allows a shortcut to appear so a user can swipe left to right to get to the dialer. Any notifications that the user receives are also much handier and even more interactive.
