Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini vs. Galaxy Note 3 Neo Comparison: Specs Review - Which is Best?
Tech aficionados are on the fence about whether the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini or the Galaxy Note 3 Neo is the better buy. Considering some of the spec differentials is a good way to find out which device is best for the user.
In terms of display, the S5 Mini features a 720 x 1280-pixel resolution 4.5" Super AMOLED touchscreen, while the Note 3 Neo features the same resolution on a 5.5" Super AMOLED touch screen display.
This means that the S5 Mini is capable of better resolution at 326 ppi display density in pixels compared to Note 3 Neo's 267.
The Galaxy S5 Mini weighs 120 g, measuring 131.1 x 64.8 x 9.1 in millimeters, while the Note 3 Neo is a little heavier at 162.5 g with a measurement of 148.4 x 77.4 x 8.6 millimeters.
When it comes to their computing capacity, both run on hardware that's equally powerful. The S5 Mini possessing an Exynos 3.47K chipset with 1.4GHz quad-core A7 Cortex processor, while the Note 3 Neo features an Exynos 5.26K chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 chipset and a 1.7GHz Cortex A15 processor.
Both phones possess the same memory capacity at 16GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD.
Another similarity is that both phones run on Android. Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini uses the the KitKat OS and the Samsung Note 3 Neo uses Jelly Bean OS.
Taking into account the cameras, they both feature 8MP primary cameras. The minuscule difference between the S5 Mini's 2MP secondary camera and Note 3 Neo's 2.1MP is not noticeable at all.
The biggest and perhaps the second most important difference, next to the phone size, is the battery life. The Note 3 Neo boasts 18 hours of talk time and 64 hour 3G or music play, while the S5 Mini is only capable of 10 hours talk time and about 47 hours of 3G or music play.
