Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini vs. Galaxy S4: Specs, Details, Release Date / Which is Better Smartphone?

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy S4

Samsung has released a range of smartphones recently from the high powered Samsung Galaxy S4 to the Samsung Galaxy Fame.

They introduced the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy S4 Active and now we have the Samsung Galxy S4 Mini.

The S4 Mini screen is 4.3 inches, which is still larger than the screen of an iPhone 5, but is substantially smaller than the Galaxy S4 (5.0 inches) but does have a deeper shaped body. The body is made of plastic on the S4 Mini. Many who have tried the S4 Mini actually like the size better than the normal S4 because it is easier to hold and use with one hand.

The screen has a 960x540 resolution, which is not HD, but still a nice clear picture. It does not have the wave-your-head-over-the-screen feature either. You are able to operate the Mini with gloves on though.

The S4 Mini is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC and 4G compatible. You can even use the Mini as a TV remote.

The S4 Mini will be available in black and white options with a metallic edge around the frame. The Mini uses a 1900mAh battery, which is removable.

The S4 Mini has a lower resolution camera than the S4, which is to be expected. It is still good quality though at 8MP on back camera and 1.9MP front-facing camera. The rear camera sensor comes with LED flash to help with night time photography.

Design wise, the phone is basically like a little S4, not surprisingly, and fits with the name S4 Mini. The price point is of course a lot lower than the normal S4 as well.

The S4 Mini is available in the UK but not in the U.S. just yet.

There is some talk of an iPhone Mini to be released when the new iPhone 5S or 6 is released, but that is total rumors for now.
