Samsung Galaxy S Update News, Rumors: Android 6.0 Marshmallow will Release on Older Devices?
When Android 6.0 Marshmallow rolled on some new Nexus devices, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P, the last month, techies everywhere were waiting for word about when their older phones would get the update. Now, reports are claiming that Samsung is next in line, and it's not just for their new devices.
While it's already set in stone that the Samsung Galaxy S5 and S6 will be getting the update, some users of older smartphones want to know if they'll be getting a mobile OS update as well.
Since Samsung is the first manufacturer to receive the update, their newer models will surely be getting the roll out first. However, as it stands, there is no official release date for the roll out on Galaxy S6 devices or any of the other newer ones.
Still, tech aficionados can lean toward the recent rumors that say the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will launch by the end of this year, or by the start of 2016.
According to the Christian Post, other Samsung devices that will be getting the update are, " [the] Samsung Galaxy 6S Edge, Galaxy Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, and Galaxy S5."
Beyond that, while Samsung is taking control of the new mobile OS situation with their devices, some of the other manufacturers are setting their own devices up for an upcoming global launch.
In that regard, LG is looking to update the LG G4, LG G3 and LG G Flex2; Sony the Sony Xperia Z5, C5, and M5; Motorola the Moto X Style, Moto X Play, DROID Turbo, Moto MAXX, and Moto Turbo; and Xiaomi the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Mi 4i, and Redmi 2.
All in all, while the latest Google mobile OS update is just getting started, there's sure to be news about all the devices that will get the roll out in the end.
