Samsung Galaxy S Series Android 5.0 Lollipop Update: Which Devices Get Google's New OS Next?

The latest update from Android is getting a lot attention in the phone community as of late. Those who have certain Samsung Galaxy S Series devices are enjoying the Lollipop 5.0 update, however, some are still waiting and wondering if it will ever appear on their devices.

According to Tech Times, the one phone that already has the Android 5.0 Lollipop Update is the Samsung Galaxy S5. United States phone companies Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile have already given their customers the update while AT&T is still waiting to get the update for their Galaxy S5 phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is said to receive the update in the near future. Phone companies have not received a set date for the Lollipop update release. On an international level, users from Russia received the update in January and users from India received the update on February 10.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 are unlikely to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The device is well over two years old and has yet to get the Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update. Samsung has said in recent news that they would rather focus on their newer Galaxy S phones, which are more likely to handle the Lollipop update anyway.

The other devices for the Galaxy S Series, the S5 Mini, S5 Active, and Alpha, are still wondering they will get the newest update. It is said that the S5 Mini and Alpha are more likely to get the Lollipop update. No progress for the Alpha has been mentioned at all.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update will continue to release on Android devices throughout the months to come.
