Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Release Date News, Rumors: Early 2017 Launch Confirmed?
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may have a release date of either January or March next year, if all the rumors are true.
To be clear, there will be a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and this piece of tidbit was revealed during the class lawsuit filed by angry South Korean customers against the tech giant over the exploding batteries on their Galaxy Note 7. They demand remuneration for their time and effort.
In exchange, said the Reuters report, Samsung has offered S7 and S7 Plus to the customers with the option of upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy Note 8 for only half the price.
The company said the release date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the S8 will be next year.
For now, however, the exchange program is only available in South Korea and "the availability of such a program in other markets will be dependent on the situation in each country."
The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have 5.7-inch Quad-HD or 4K SuperAMOLED display, more likely the latter, and S-Pen Stylus. It will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. There's also the usual bells and whistles like fast wireless charging, waterproof and dustproof, fingerprint and iris scanner and USB-C support.
Patrick Moorhead, president of Moor Insights & Strategy, also expects the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date to be in January during the CES or at the Mobile World Congress in March. "It will look different, it may be a different color, they might put a different industrial type of coating on it," he said. But it will be their high-end phone that not only goes after high-end consumers but enterprise as well."
