Galaxy Note 7 Recall Update: Samsung Pleads Urgency From Public As Another Blast Injures Boy?
Samsung has urged the public to exchange their Galaxy Note 7 immediately as another news of a blast was reported in New York, injuring a six-year-old boy.
A statement from its website said urges the public to take all the news reports about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 seriously. Although the number of incidents is "small," the South Korean company is tracing all the bad batteries installed on the devices that are currently in the market.
"However, because our customers' safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7," it said. "For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we now ask that you power down your device and return to using your previous phone. We will voluntarily replace your Galaxy Note7 device with a new one, beginning on September 19th."
In a news article, the NY Post reported that another case of exploding Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery occurred in East Flatbush, Brooklyn over the weekend.
Apparently, the boy was watching videos on the phablet when it exploded. The blast was so loud that it set off the alarms in the house. The boy was brought to the Downstate Medical Center for treatment on burns to his body although he was already discharged.
According to his grandmother, Linda Lewis, the boy suffered a trauma because of the incident, and has refused to go near any phone.
Watch out for more news on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which will be reported here as soon as they become available.
