Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Release Date News: No Galaxy Note 6?; Tech Giant To Change Name As Galaxy Note 7
It is revealed that Samsung is not set to have the Galaxy Note 6 in the market, as it is set to be released with a different name.
According to a Korean source, as cited by Sam Mobile, the Korean tech giant has opted to change the name of its sixth-generation Galaxy note device as Galaxy Note 7, instead of Galaxy Note 6. As per the publication, the Galaxy Note 7 will be more at par with the company's upcoming devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
In a statement, as cited by the Android Authority, a high-ranking official said that Samsung had decided to skip over Galaxy Note 6 to eliminate any inconsistency with an image that could occur as numbers of two products' brands were different, adding that it was also applying dual-edge on Note series for the first time.
The source also mentioned that when Galaxy Note 6 that had its model number lowered than Galaxy S7, which was the newest model, was released, could give out a feeling that it was an outdated phone. Presumably, this is a marketing issue faced by the Galaxy Note 6 that it has to be renamed as the Galaxy Note 7.
It is viewed that renaming the Galaxy Note 6 is Samsung's strategy to optimize the marketability of the device, which is seen as the giant tech's largest anticipated product. Thus, it is the way it sees that allows it to keep close with its competitors.
As per Tech Radar, the Galaxy Note 6 is expected to have a 5.8-inch screen with 1440 by 2560 resolution, along with a 2.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 823 chip and an option among a 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of storage. It is also assumed to have either an 18MP or 24MP rear camera and a 4200mAh battery, which is larger than the Galaxy Note 5's 3000mAh battery.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 6 is set to be released in August.
