Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Release Date News: Korean Tech Titan Plans August Launch to Avoid Clash With Next-Gen iPhone Release
While several rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is likely to be launched in September 2015, a recent report in the Wall Street Journal hints that the South Korean tech giant may introduce its upcoming phablet sometime in August with a view to avoid a clash with the expected launch of Apple's iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in September.
Quoting the report in the Wall Street Journal, IB Times says that it has become a practice with Samsung to release its Galaxy Note series phablets at the September IFA tech trade show in Berlin. However, this year, it is expected that Apple will announce its new iPhones in mid-September and release the devices by the end of the month. Samsung is hopeful that by releasing the Galaxy Note 5 in August, it will be able to draw the entire attention from the media.
In 2014, Samsung had done the same thing for the launch of the Galaxy Alpha. When the South Korean tech giant released the mid-range metal chassis-sporting smartphone in mid-August, no other major smartphones were announced, enabling it to garner a lot of attention from the media as well as tech enthusiasts.
In the meantime, the Telegraph reported that the Cupertino, California-based firm has already placed the largest ever production order for its purported iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus handsets with its suppliers. Precisely speaking, Apple has placed orders for 85 million to 90 million handsets for both 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays.
In 2014, Apple had ordered 70 million to 80 million units of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S Plus.
A different report in the Wall Street Journal stated that the next iPhones will be able to differentiate between lighter and harder taps via the Force Touch technology embedded display.
Meanwhile, though the rumor mill is constantly revealing newer purported specifications and features of the Galaxy Note 5, Samsung is yet to confirm any of them.
