Samsung Galaxy Marshmallow Update News: Russian A5 Users Get Update First?

Samsung has made Android Marshmallow update to its Galaxy A line, but the news might be applicable only to Russia, and only for users with unlocked mobile phones.

After the news that the Android Marshmallow update will only be available for the OG Galaxy A7 2015 edition, the report was obviously met with some groans. But Samsung is apparently adding the Galaxy A5 2016 into the list of devices that will receive the new update.

"Of course, the same caveats once again apply: it's only for customers in Russia, and even then only for unlocked variants," Android Authority said.

The update offers several features that will really help user-experience, such as the upgrade to Google Now on Tap which will really help make things easier for the consumers. There's also the improved copy-pasting feature, increased battery life through the Doze, manageable storage and personalized lock screen.

For now, the Android Marshmallow update is already available for the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. The Galaxy Tab S2 is also receiving the much needed upgrade.

Service provider AT&T already started to roll out Android Marshmallow update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. The same goes for Sprint.

"T-Mobile's also started rolling out its Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and Galaxy S6 Edge Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow updates," said the report. "These updates will roll out Over-the-Air to users for several days and bring enhancements and fixes to the former flagships."
