Android Marshmallow Update News: Samsung Galaxy Update Having Password And Fingerprint Issues?

In line with the Samsung Galaxy Marshmallow Update, it is revealed that the update is currently having password and fingerprint issues.

Reddit member and Samsung user self.Android revealed that the Marshmallow update on Samsung device can potentially lock a person out of the phone he is using. According to self.Android, the issue affected the phone of his wife, as well as those owned by other people at their local Best Buy. He specified that the issue involved the Samsung Note 5 and Samsung S6.

It was detailed by self.Android that his wife and the others had all used their fingerprints to unlock their screen and it had stopped recognizing their fingerprints. He also mentioned that backup password and Google sign in did not work either. It was further revealed that Samsung booth could not resolve it and only a repair center could do it.

Finally, self.Android mentioned that he had found out that Samsung's account had allowed him to lock it and then unlock it getting her back in.

According to SamMobile, as cited by International Business Times, the issue may be a result of an encryption being activated by default in handsets with some degree of specifications. This means that the said feature should be disabled if the user has to enter the authentication key via pattern unlock, pin code, password, or fingerprint, every time the device starts.

The Android Marshmallow update is revealed to be more than 1GB in size, according to Gotta Be Mobile. As per the publication, the update also unleashes several features, improvements, and bug fixes. Marshmallow is featured by the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, and developers are now working for the update to work in the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus.

Android Marshmallow has also rolled out in various countries like the Austria, India, Philippines, Spain, and the United Kingdom, among others.
