Samsung Galaxy A8 Release Date News: Tech Titan May Launch Thinnest Smartphone Yet in 2015 Q3
Samsung introduced a new smartphone called Galaxy A8 in March this year. According to latest reports, the device is likely to be released sometime during 2015's third quarter.
Christian Post states that the recently released images of the device reveal that the Samsung Galaxy A8 sports a 5.9 mm thin body - thinner compared to Apple's iPhone 6 smartphone.
If the images of the device are correct, the Galaxy A8 will be the thinnest smartphone developed by Samsung so far. According to some media outlets, the latest images of the device were leaked by nowhereelse.fr and were accompanied by the specs and features of the upcoming smartphone.
According to earlier reports, the Samsung Galaxy A8 may come with a 5.7 inch display screen rendering a 1080 x 1920 resolution. It is also expected that the device will be powered by Qualcomm's MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 and run on the Google's latest OS, the Android 5.1 Lollipop. Moreover, the Galaxy A8 is likely to come with 2 GB worth of RAM and 16 GB internal memory space.
There are rumors that the new Samsung handset will have a 16 megapixel rear camera alongside a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. The camera features include autofocus, HDR, face detection as well as panorama capabilities.
The device is also expected to be powered by an impressive non-removable 3050 mAh battery, which is nearly as immense as the recently released Samsung Galaxy S6 Active.
According to GSM Arena, the device may come in three color options - pearl white, champagne gold, and midnight black. Previous reports hinted that Samsung Galaxy A8 would also incorporate a fingerprint sensor.
However, as of now, it is not clear when the South Korean tech titan actually plans to release the new smartphone. Recently, a report in BGR stated that the new device is being developed only for the Asian market, but earlier reports said that it would also be sold in the European market.
