Samsung Galaxy A7 Specs, Features, Price: Upcoming Smartphone is Thinner than iPhone 6

Recently, Samsung displayed its upcoming octocore smartphone at the Galaxy A launch event in Malaysia and, if latest reports are to be believed, the South Korean tech manufacturer will release the device (available in white, black, and gold casings) sometime soon.

According to Latin Post, while Galaxy A7 currently runs on Android KitKat, it is likely to get the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update sooner than later. The smartphone boasts a dual 1.8 GHz and 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. The dual-SIM version of Galaxy A7 will come with a 1.5 GHz and 1.0 GHz quad-core processor. In addition, Samsung's upcoming device will come with 16GB memory, 2GB of RAM in addition to an outstanding 2,600 mAh battery.

Galaxy A7 will come with a 5.5-inch screen display, which is larger compared to the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 - two smartphones of the same line that were announced in 2014. Apart from being slimmer compared to the A3 and A5 smartphones, the A7 will come with a metallic body.

The A7 measures 6.3 mm deep and half a cm slimmer compared to Apple's iPhone 6. While it weighs 141g measuring 151 mm long and 76.2 mm wide.

The website reports that the upcoming Samsung smartphone will target the camera phone fans. It will come with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which, according to the South Korean manufacturer, can take a "wide" selfie.

In fact, this smartphone allows users to shoot "auto selfie" employing "a voice command or just a simple wave of the hand."

Galaxy A7 incorporates the "Always Clear Voice Auto Control" a system that reduces background noise during calls. It also includes some additional features such as a private mode that offers additional security for important files in addition to a multiple screen apps support.

While Samsung has yet to make an announcement regarding the launch date of Galaxy A7, or its price tag, TechCrunch speculates that it will cost around $420 off contract.
