Samsung CES 2015 News: New Milk Streaming Service To Release on Smart TVs, VR Apps
Samsung announced that it plans to push its Milk streaming service onto more devices and platforms, bringing it to its smart televisions, the web, and even virtual reality.
The South Korean company is planning to spread Milk streaming and make it more accessible to consumers by adding it to as many devices as possible.
Now, consumers can check out Milk on all Samsung Smart TVs with the new Milk Music app and an upcoming Milk Video app. Samsung is also planning to come out with a web interface for both music and videos. The company is also developing a Milk Video Virtual Reality app for the Gear VR and for the Galaxy Note 4, with new content available for users five days a week.
The announcement of the new Milk entertainment services was made by Samsung during Monday's press conference for the International 2015 Consumer Electronics Show.
At the CES, which will be held in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, Samsung will be showing the public the Milk Music TV app, which is already available, and a preview of the upcoming Milk Video TV App which will be released sometime this spring. Milk Music will also be shown, which will come out in the web sometime this quarter.
The Milk VR, or the virtual reality app, has also been made available for the Note 4 and Gear VR and users will be able to view immersive 360-degree videos and their pick of videos on channels such as lifestyle, sports, action and music.
John Pleasants, the executive vice president of Samsung Media Solutions Center America, spoke at the conference and said, "We are excited to bring the music and video experience to even more platforms for our customers to enjoy, and offer customers a glimpse at what's possible in the brand new realm of immersive mobile video and virtual reality."
