Sam Smith New Genre News, Rumors: Grammy Awards Winner to Make Country Music with Kacey Musgraves?

The 2015 Grammy Awards last February 8, 2015 was reportedly soul singer Sam Smith's night as he took in four of the biggest awards to be given to artists presently. The soul singer, who's hit song is "Stay With Me," is also rumored to be possibly going country as he recently announced.

In his interview with E! News Smith revealed who he wanted to work with. "I like Kacey Musgraves, the county singer," Smith told E! News at the Grammys, "She's great. That would be great," he added.

Meanwhile, E! News reporter Marc Malkin posted on Twitter: "I love this. @samsmithworld told me he'd love to work with @KaceyMusgraves. Let's make that happen right now. #GRAMMYS."

After a short while, Musgraves commented on the post saying "@marcmalkin @samsmithworld Let's do it!" she wrote. After that, a lot of reports speculate that Smith might want to go try another genre, Country.

If he does try it out, several have reported that it is most likely that Smith will achieve greatness once again in that genre as he had proven his artistic and musical ability in just a few months after releasing his debut album, "In The Lonely Hour."

In his interview with BBC News, Smith remembered how he reached his artistic musical excellence. "Before I made this record, I was doing everything to try to get my music heard... I tried to lose weight and I was making awful music. It was when I started to be myself that the music flowed," he shared.

Speaking of which, the album and Smith, got four awards at the Grammys including song of the year and record of the year for the song "Stay With Me" as well as an award for Best New artist. In accepting the award Smith said, "Thank you so much for breaking my heart because you got me four Grammys."

After the Awards ceremony, the British singer was reportedly celebrating his victory at a private estate in Bel Air. Reportedly, among his guests were Taylor Swift and her friend Hozier, Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Haim and Diplo.
