'Deadpool' Cast News: Actor Ryan Reynolds Talks Upcoming Marvel Movie
Marvel fans' wishes were answered last year when the confirmation of the "Deadpool" movie was released. To add to that excitement, actor Ryan Reynolds was promised to come back and reprise his role as the fourth wall breaking superhero.
If fans remember, it was the urgency of a response from FOX after the leak of their demo footage that prompted them to green light the project.
MTV caught up with Reynolds at the Sundance Festival and asked him on his thoughts on the development of the film and the video leak.
He spoke on the film's long time coming."It's been a long time (11 years), but it's happening the right way, and that's all that matters."
In the right way Reynolds is referring to less interjection from the studio and making a movie he believes the fans have been waiting for. He comments on not having as big of a budget as most superhero films, but that just adds to their free range with the character.
He also spoke on the leaked test footage.
"Yeah, I would've leaked that footage myself! Looking back now? In a heartbeat! I should go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I got in there!"
The actor jokes but his sincerity in wanting to make this a good movie is felt through the interview.
Reynolds previously played the character in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," but FOX's take on the character, along with his performance left audiences not so impressed.
If the test footage is any indication on what they'll be doing with the movie this time around, fans will recognize Deadpool as the outlandish character he is.
The movie is set to be released about a year from now on February 12th, 2016.
