Ian Somerhalder & Nikki Reed News: Engagement Set After Six Months of Dating
Recent rumors say that 'Vampire Diaries' star Ian Somerhalder is now engaged to his sweetheart and 'Twilight' actor Nikki Reed. As the news of their engagement spread, there have been rumors that 36-year-old Somerhalder and 26-year-old Reed plan to tie the knot after dating for six months, says IBTimes.
People Magazine reported on Thursday that the couple is very happy these days. The source is quoted as saying, "They're so happy." Referring to the reported engagement, another source told E! Online, "They were crazy happy from the start. Their families love each other. It just feels right."
Meanwhile, socialite and blogger Perez Hilton also corroborated that the couple is now engaged and they plan to wed. According to the Webloid, Reed has already finalized her divorce from "American Idol" Season 10 star Paul McDonald earlier in January and is now wearing her engagement ring on her right hand with a view to turn aside people's mind from their upcoming marriage.
On Thursday, Webloid reported, "There have been some rumors buzzing of an engagement between Nikki Reed and 'The Vampire Diaries' hunk, and sadly, it's all true."
Even as no one is sure as to when Somerhalder proposed to Reed, Us Weekly claimed that a source said that Reed accepted his marriage proposal "with glee." Meanwhile, an insider quipped, "She is madly in love."
However, as of now, neither Reed nor Somerhalder has responded to rumors regarding their engagement.
For the uninitiated, Reed and Somerhalder began their romance in July 2014. Although the actors still do not have children together, they are already parents to Somerhalder's "baby boy," a horse named Eagle and an adopted cat named Sohalia.
Apart from their common love for animals and sharing a horse and a cat, the couple also set up their own production company some six months back. Recently, Somerhalder announced, "Nikki and I are starting a production company, and we're going to be able to tell even more stories that we really want to tell, everything from documentaries to TV shows to movies."
