Charlotte Elizabeth Diana - Kate Middleton's New Baby Girl Name Revealed
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has given birth to a baby girl at 8.34 BST. The Kensington Palace issued a statement on Saturday saying the baby was "safely delivered' and weighs 8 lbs 3 oz (3.7 kg). Both, the mother and her daughter are "doing well," the statement added.
On that note, what fans of the Royal family really want to know, is what the baby's name is. As reported, the new royal baby has been named Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
According to a report by BBC, the princess will now be fourth in line to the throne. The latest royal joins the line of succession behind her grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and brother Prince George.
Earlier, the duchess had been admitted to the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital, where Kate gave birth to Prince George, the couple's first child, in July 2013.
According to the Kensington Palace statement, The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
There were cries and cheers, as the news of the princess' birth filtered through outside St Mary's. Soon an official town crier made his own birth announcement.
Soon after the birth of the princess, British Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted, "Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby girl. I'm absolutely delighted for them," while Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg tweeted that he as well as his wife Miriam wished the family "all the best."
Expressing his delight on the arrival of the royal baby, Labour leader Ed Miliband wrote, "Congratulations to the duke and duchess on the birth of their daughter. Wishing them lots of joy and happiness - and hopefully some sleep!"
Even the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said, "It's wonderful news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a healthy new baby girl," adding, "Like many here and abroad, I'm delighted for the royal couple on this special day. May God bless them and both of their children with love, health and joy."
On that note, the baby is the Queen's fifth great-grandchild.
