Rosie O'Donnell News: Former 'The View' Host Reveals Why She's Leaving the Show

After her silence on Monday morning's 'The View' episode, Rosie O'Donnell finally speaks out and explains why she will be leaving the show and why she didn't discuss it on the air despite all the fans that wanted to know her reasons.

The famous talk show host, who had been rumored to have a long feud with one of her co-hosts in the show, Whoopi Goldberg, revealed that it's her health and family life and not any other reason why she chose to leave.

And the reason why she didn't discuss on the air, O'Donnell explained in her video that she released with the title 'A Heartfelt View - on we Grow'. "I didn't want to talk about it," she said in her video, "I spoke about it during the press line on Friday night..."

"I had a heart attack two years ago, and stress is very bad for heart attack survivors," she revealed adding, "I'm minimizing my stress by leaving The View, and the stress that I'm having at home isn't as easily [fixable]."

The star, reportedly undergoing a divorce with wife Michelle Rounds explained that she chose to sacrifice what she can control, which is work. "Marriage is complicated, and I've got five kids," she said. "There's lots of stuff going on at home and lots of stuff going on at work. The only thing I can control is the work by leaving I can turn that volume down all the way to zero," O'Donnell explained.

Meanwhile, on the issue about a shakeup on the show which included a potential permanent departure from Rosie Perez because of an obligation to her play, O'Donnell shot the rumors down explaining, "No matter what you read anywhere, Rosie Perez is also coming back after she is done rehearsing her play," she said.

After O'Donnell's statement, the management released their own as well explaining the valu of the host to the network. "Rosie is an immensely talented star who comes in each and every morning brimming with ideas, excitement and passion for the show. When she told us that she wanted to exit The View, we respected and understood her desire to put her well-being and her family first," ABC said in a statement.

And for the fans worrying if she would ever return to the show, ABC said, "We're delighted she's still part of the ABC family with upcoming guest appearances on The Fosters. And we know she'll return to The View often with her unique point of view and updates on her work and her family."
