Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia Fight News, Rumors: Title Bout in Brazil to Mirror 'Rocky IV'?
UFC Women's Bantamweight champion is looking for more career challenges outside the octagon, as reports of yet another film project has surfaced recently, but that doesn't mean she's not looking for challenges inside of it as well.
As the undefeated champion said on the Jay Mohr Sports radio show Thursday, she wants to fight fellow undefeated fighter Bethe Correia in her hometown of Brazil, reports MMAFighting.
"That's what I want to do. I want to fight her in Brazil and beat her in her hometown. That would be the best way I could really feel like I've vindicated my friends, to go to her hometown and beat her in her hometown and be total Rocky IV on it," she said referring to the losses her buddies Jessamyn Duke and Shana Baszler suffered at the hands of the Brazilian.
On the other hand, Correia has not been shy of yearning to fight for the title herself. UFC president Dana White even said that the brash Brazilian flew all the way from Brazil asking to get inside the octagon after the UFC 184 main event to challenge Rousey for the belt.
And while that didn't go exactly as planned for Correia, it didn't stop her from sharing her thoughts of the champion with the media.
"She just thinks about herself, making movies, dressing well, showing up. I'm not gonna be like this, I'm gonna be a real champ. I'm gonna do something for the people. I'm gonna be the people's champ," Correia said.
White has already said that ever since Correia started talking about the champion, Rousey has asked him for that fight, saying that she wants to beat her before someone else does.
"There is a young up-and-coming Brazilian chick with an undefeated record that beat two of my friends and has been trying to rub it in my face. Pretty much trying to get in an argument with me, because when you're in an argument with me, you're suddenly more important. I guess this chick figured that out. Messing with mama bear is a very bad idea. She might be next on my radar," Rousey was quoted saying.
