Ronda Rousey Movie News: UFC Champion to Star in Movie Adaptation of Her Autobiography
Ronda Rousey, the prevailing Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion, will soon appear on the big screen again to portray herself in the movie adaptation of her autobiography titled "My Fight/ Your Fight."
The 28-year-old American mixed martial artist (MMA), judoka and actress penned the autobiography along with her sister Maria Burns Ortiz. "My Fight/ Your Fight" narrates Rousey's trial-laden path to success.
According to Christian Today, Regan Arts published the book this year and it was the New York Times bestselling autobiography. Variety reports that Paramount Pictures have obtained the rights to Rousey's autobiography and now plans to make a movie based on it,
Variety further stated that Mark Bomback, who will also be the executive producer for the upcoming movie, will adapt the book, while Mary Parent and Rousey will producer the movie jointly.
Earlier, Bomback served as the screenwriter of 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' and 'The Wolverine.'
Incidentally, this will not be the first time that Rousey will be appearing on the big screen since, as the MMA has already starred in 'Expendables 3,' 'Furious 7,' and 'Entourage.' According to ESPN, Rousey will also shoot for another movie titled 'Mile 22,' directed by Peter Berg, later this year.
According to Variety, Rousey is also being linked to the Warner Bros. action movie titled 'The Athena Project.'
Recently, Rousey overcame the Brazilian contender Bethe Correia in a 34-second knockout to defend her title for the sixth consecutive time and remain unbeaten at 12-0.
Her next potential fight is against Miesha Tate, whom she already defeated twice via submission; while Tate is the only fighter that made it beyond the first round against Rousey.
Latest reports suggest that a Rousey-Tate rematch is planned to be a co-main event for the Jose Aldo vs. Conner McGregor fight, which is likely to take place in December.
