Rolling Stones New Tour News: Legendary Rock Band Announces North American Summer Tour
North American fans of legendary rock band The Rolling Stones announced that they would be touring stadiums this summer for the Zip Code Tour, as reported by Yahoo. The tour, which would touchdown on 15 cities, will be kicking off on May 24th at San Diego's Petco Park, and will peak on July 15th at Quebec's Le Festival D'Été de Québec.
The Zip Code Tour is part of the promotions for the band's classic 1971 album "Sticky Fingers," which will be coming out in deluxe format on May 26th, and will be the first time since 2007 that The Stones will be playing North American stadiums.
"We are excited to be back in North America playing stadiums this summer. We are looking forward to being back onstage and playing your favorite songs." The singer added in a promo video for the tour, "People say, "How come you're still doing this?' but I can't believe I did this when I was 20," Stones frontman Mick Jagger said in a statement
"We love being out on the road and it is great to come back to North America. I can't wait to get back on the stage," added Keith Richards.
Yahoo reveals that the band intends to play with stages that extend into the audience, with performances amped up by special effects. Tickets for all U.S. dates go on sale on April 13, while the Quebec gig will be on sale April 11.
The deluxe issue of "Sticky Fingers" includes hits like "Brown Sugar," "Wild Horses," Dead Flowers," and "Can't Hear Me Knocking." Apart from being released in a variety of formats, the band promises a number of previously unreleased audio outtakes from the album's sessions, as well as live recordings previously unseen.
The show is also the first time The Rolling Stones will be touring North America since 2013.
