Rock Band Journey Donates $350K to Philippines Relief Aid
Popular rock band Journey has donated $350,000 to relief aid in the Philippines in the wake of the typhoon. It is estimated that the money donated by Journey will buy 1.4 million meals for the survivors of the storm. The band has teamed up with Live Nation Entertainment and Creative Artists Agency to make the donation happen.
The current lead singer of Journey, Arnel Pineda, is from the Philippines so when the storm struck his native country he knew that he had to do something to help. He recently appeared on Anderson Cooper's show on CNN to talk about the tragedy and urge people to donate money.
Journey posted a statement from Hunter Biden, a representative from World Food Program USA, on their Facebook page. He said, "We're honored to have Journey's support and Arnel Pineda's leadership on this incredible donation fro WFP's emergency relief in the Philippines. Their support is going to make a real difference for so many Filipino children and families in need."
