Movie star, Robert Pattinson and his beau, FKA Twigs, are rumored to be engaged, and apparently, T-Pain, a close friend of the couple mentioned that in an interview with Vulture magazine.

"Yeah, to ol' Patty [Robert Pattinson]," he said in the interview, published Wednesday, "I don't know if she wanted anybody to know that..."

Shortly after the interview, however, he retracted his statement, saying that it was an April Fools' Day prank. The interviewer asked the rapper whether he would be collaborating with FKA Twigs in his newest album.

T-Pain stated that the two first met in the studio and that her music has changed a lot since that time. He then added that she is often busy on tour, and that she is recently engaged, to Robert Pattinson.

While T-Pain maintains that his statement was an April Fools' Day joke, People magazine says that there is some truth to the claims.

Meanwhile, representatives for both Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs have not made comments that would confirm the couple's engagement rumors.

Earlier this month, a friend of the British stars told PEOPLE they had exchanged promise rings.

The couple has been together for six months and have reportedly exchanged promise rings recently, but sources say that Twigs' jewelry is actually an engagement ring. If the rumors are true, this will be the first marriage for bother partners.

Pattinson, who soared to popularity due to his role in the Twilight franchise, dated his co-star Kristen Stewart for three years before breaking things off in 2013.
