Rob Lowe News: Actor Celebrates 25 Years of Sobriety and Mother’s Day Last Weekend
Last weekend wasn't all about celebrating mothers for actor Rob Lowe as he just celebrated 25 years of sobriety and even encouraged those like him struggling with alcohol that there is hope of recovering. Lowe is a definite proof that there can be a cure for alcoholic people and that is hard work.
After 25 years, Lowe remembered his struggle last weekend and posted on his twitter encouraging people that there is real and true hope just like what he experienced in 1990. "To those struggling with addiction, there is true, real hope," Lowe wrote on Twitter adding, "25 years ago today, I found recovery; and a life of promise. #Grateful."
It seemed like such a whirlwind as it has apparently been 25 years since Lowe sipped his last alcohol drink. Lowe explained all his experience and journey during his days attending a rehabilitation facility during his previous interview with Oprah Winfrey.
"I didn't love the fact that I had to go and it was absolutely painful, but I liked the science," Lowe said in his previous interview with Winfrey for Oprah Prime. "I couldn't have gotten sober without rehab because I needed the science. I needed to [learn about] addiction and what it does to your body and all of the research and the things like that," he added.
After being healed during that time, Lowe already started inspiring others that there is hope and people would just have to believe in rehab. "A lot of people can do it through 12-step programs alone-I wouldn't have been one of them, although I believe in them. I needed to do the work," he continued.
Meanwhile, the famous 'West Wing' actor concluded his weekend of course giving honor to mothers for Mother's day posting another message on Twitter. "To @Sheryllowe61 and all the beautiful, dedicated, supportive and loving mothers out there," he wrote adding, "Thank you and bless you. #LOVE."
