WHOAwomen Magazine welcomed country music's sweetheart and ABC's Rising Star contestant Sarah Darling, as the cover girl for the July issue, in which Darling opens up about her faith.

The magazine is on stands now and Darling told Laine Lawson Craft, editor of the women's publication that her faith is the foundation of her life.

"To me, faith is like the rock that kind of binds all of it together. I think that if I did not have my faith in Christ, I could not do this career or have the patience of perseverance to go along with it. Faith keeps me in the right place and everything in perspective," Darling shared with the magazine.

Additionally, the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter shared with WHOAwomen about her growing business ventures, making French pastries, and introducing a new line of boots in partnership with Durango Footwear. Darling also revealed how dating a "bad boy" launched her into stardom.

"I ended up dating this bad boy, and wrote a ton of songs about this relationship. At the time I was wondering why on earth God put me in this tumultuous part of my life," she said, "But you know that it is true about being shaken up-sometimes it just stresses to you to do amazing things. After writing all of these songs, I started playing them out live and had no idea that they were even good...I just did my thing and I got signed to a label in Nashville pretty quickly after three years of being here and after singing my songs out."

Darling is a small-town girl from Mitchellville, Iowa, raised up on Country and Gospel music.
