'Rise of the Tomb Raider' New DLC, PS4 News: Explores New Mode Similar To ‘Survival Of The Fittest’ Concept

Fans may see "Rise of the Tomb Raider" apply the concept of "survival of the fittest" in its new mode.

According to Digital Trends, "Rise of the Tomb Raider" is set to see Lara Croft battle the harsh wild environment in the game's endurance world. The said game mode serves as a challenge to gamers and provide a new gaming experience to starters, particularly the gamers of the PlayStation 4.

The survival mode is comprised of challenges posed by the wildlife, the surroundings, and the other antagonists in the game. It is up to Croft whether she is going to deal with hunting, eating, and escaping various hazards, in order for her to survive.

In his recent interview with Game Informer, "Rise of the Tomb Raider" creative director Noah Hughes voiced out his thoughts on whether the game sequel would go open-world or not. He told the publication that he did not know if an equivalent scale in the next game was necessarily the right answer.

According to Hughes, what they always wanted to maintain was a sense of density and a sense of a unique crafting experience, so as much as scale had been the right step this time, going forward they wanted to make sure they were continuing to create worlds that were meaningful, well-crafted, and rich.

For Hughes, it was not about scale for scale's sake.

Crystal Dynamics is up to something, should "Rise of the Tomb Raider" was truly set to be open-world, according to Attack of the Fanboy. As per the publication, Croft would not just travel afar with no reason and just for the sake of bring a wider scope for the game.

In addition to the arrival of "Rise of the Tomb Raider" to the PC line-up this month, gamers are also set to have the game on the PlayStation 4.
