Riley Clemmons Unveils New Song, Music Video, "Hold On"
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Riley Clemmons on Thursday released her new music video for "Hold On," premiering exclusively on Ashton Kutcher's' positive storytelling website aPlus. Featuring a Beats by Dre brand partnership, the video directed by Ezra Cohen conveys a message of hope and perseverance to fans, with shots of Clemmons facing adversity head-on, running through rain, fire, and darkness to ultimately cross the finish line.
Speaking to aPlus, the 18-year-old says she has constantly had to remind herself that perfection is not the goal.
"I find a lot of motivation rooted in the idea that I'm a work in progress, and that's OK," Clemmons shares. "In the hard moments, I try to pause and ask myself why I wanted to chase this dream in the first place.
"I believe that there's light at the end of the tunnel," she says. "I believe that there is always a reason to hold on."
Currently, Clemmons is readying for the release of her self-titled full-length debut album with Capitol CMG on Aug. 3. The LP is heralded by the breakthrough hit "Broken Prayers," and the recently released "Better For It," which was streamed more than 500,000 times globally in its first ten days.
"Better For It" has already been picked up by Spotify's New Music Friday, Apple Music's Breaking Pop, as well as Sirius XM. Clemmons says she will spend the day of the release of her upcoming album at Ryan Seacrest Foundation's Seacrest Studios at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in her hometown of Nashville, Tenn.
The self-titled debut LP, Riley Clemmons, is available for pre-order with instant grat tracks here, ahead of its Aug. 3 release.
