Rihanna News, Rumors: 'R8' Singer Admits She Doesn't Want to Perform Her Hit Songs

Since signing her record deal with Def Jam in 2005, it goes without saying that Rihanna has had a long list of platinum selling albums and hits. But in a recent interview with MTV, the Barbadian pop megastar admitted that she isn't as big a fan of her hits as her fans are.

"I've made a lot of songs that are just really big songs," the Grammy winner said, "From the jump, they just blow up. And I wanted to just get back to"¦not that they weren't real music, bus I just wanted to focus on the things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever," while promoting her eighth album R8.

"I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years," added Rihanna. "I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years"”not any songs that were burnt out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don't want to perform a lot of my songs because they don't feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless," she said.

As noted by US Weekly, Riri recently began work on her upcoming studio album, which is her first album since 2012's "Unapologetic." That record, which included such hits as "Stay" and "Pour It Up" was a certified platinum album, and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

As much as she admittedly doesn't like to, last August while on a quick tour with fellow Grammy award-winning rapper Eminem, Rihanna played a litany of her hits that included 2007's "Umbrella," 2008's "Live Your Life," 2009's "Run This Town," and 2010's "Rude Boy," as reported by US Weekly.

Rihanna's eighth album "R8" features the collaboration between Kanye West and Paul McCartney titled "FourFiveSeconds," which was produced by West. It is still currently without a release date.
