Rihanna New Song News: Singer Releases New 'R8' Album Track Featuring Kanye West And Paul McCartney
With the recent teases to her "R8" album, the Bajan singer, Rihanna, has finally released a new song called "FourFiveSeconds," featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney.
"The track is not only a shocker in the surprising manner in which she announced it-a tweet that simply said 'FIRST GLIMPSE AT MY NEW MUSIC!!!'-but in its style. Musically, 'Four Five Seconds' is a complete departure for both Rihanna and Kanye West, though it does fit McCartney's style. A simple, pared-down guitar track, the song puts the spotlight on Rihanna's vocals, highlighting them in a way that her club-ready, bombastic tunes don't usually. Aside from one acoustic guitar, the song also features an organ, several layers of the Barbadian pop star's vocals, and a guest verse (that is sung, not rapped) by West," writes Forbes.
The way the song dropped onto the scene is as equally surprising as this unlikely trio on a track together.
Rihanna and Kanye are classically familiar with collaborating with each other as they're both signed to the same label "Roc-a-fella Records." They've shared hits such as, "Run This Town" featuring Jay-Z, and "All of the Lights".
McCartney has only just collaborated with Kanye West on a track earlier this month titled "Only One." The song was said to be an ode to Kanye's baby daughter, North West, in the perspective of his late mother Donda.
Accompanied with the release of "FourFiveSeconds" is some album art featuring the three singers in black and white with braille writing embroidered on the top translating the title.
Fans expect Rihanna's anticipated album to drop in the next couple months. As of yet the singer hasn't announced a release date.
"FourFiveSeconds" is now available on iTunes for download.
