Ricky Martin Death Hoax Rumors: 'Adios' Singer Posts Playful Instagram Photos
After rumors of his death surfaced on the Internet earlier this month, Ricky Martin decided to prove that he was in fact alive and well by means of two playful Instagram posts.
The "Adios" singer posted a photo on his Instagram, showing the beach, the mountains, and the clear blue sky and captioned it with "Hello from #heaven."
He also posted another photo, this time showing a silhouette of himself with the sunset in the background. He wrote, "#Sunset in #heaven."
The rumors of Martin's death followed an Internet hoax where Youtube channel, "Shocking And-upcoming" uploaded a YouTube video on Jan. 3 titled "Ricky Martin dies in tragic accident New Years day."
The video shows a police officer during a press conference talking about Martin's death and announcing details about the crash. The description of the video also claimed that the singer passed away at 4:30 pm ET after his BMW convertible car crashed at the freeway in Los Angeles, California.
As it turned out, Martin was actually spending vacation in Puerto Rico with his family. While rumors of one's death would shock anyone, it seemed the singer was relaxed and in enough of a good mood to at least take the hoax with a laugh, says Billboard.
Martin has a lot on his plate anyway to worry about such rumors, as it was announced the previous week that the Latin heartthrob will be releasing a new album on Feb. 10, titled 'A Quien Quiera Eschuchar' or 'Who I Want To Listen To'.
Not only that, but he also confirmed the release of a new single off the album and released the single's cover. Titled "Disparo al Corazon" or "Shot Through The Heart," the track will come out on Jan. 12 on radios before being released digitally worldwide on Jan. 13.
On a side note, Martin is also currently serving as a judge for 'The Voice' Mexico and 'The Voice' Australia.
