Ricky Martin Death Hoax: 'Hercules' Singer Alive, Posts Photos From 'Heaven' on Twitter

As celebrity death hoaxes constantly surface, some of the targeted actresses and actors have been rumored to be dead several times over. For example, 'Lucy' actor Morgan Freeman remains healthy and alive at the age of 77, despite being reportedly dead three times over.

On that note, it was recently reported that beloved musician Ricky Martin passed away on New Year's Day to the distress of his friends and family. The false news report went viral on YouTube, deceiving over 300,000 viewers.

However, never has a death report been created this extensively. On January 3rd, a realistic news report fooled hundreds of fans into believing that Ricky Martin, a Grammy-award-winning artist, had died. Allegedly, the singer had been in a car crash while speeding down the freeway. The fake report declared that Martin had died of injuries, and then posted a clip of a horrific car crash.

The deception went as far as citing "direct quotes" from family members who were supposedly grieving over the loss.

Rather than becoming infuriated by the story, Ricky Martin seemed amused. He responded to the rumors with the tweet, "Hello from #heaven," followed by a line of laughing smiley icons.

On Sunday, he posted a series of beautiful pictures on his Instagram account. The photographs featured white beaches and sweet sunsets, but most importantly, they held the hashtag, "#heaven".

Despite all rumors, the 43-year-old artist is alive and well... As is his music career. Ricky Martin is a coach on 'The Voice Mexico' this year, and has plans to release his new album "A QuienQuieraEscuchar (For Whoever Wants to Listen), sometime in 2015.
