'Rick And Morty' Season 3 News: Special Mini-Episode Gets Fans Excited For Next Season
"Rick and Morty" fans were treated to an improvised live mini-episode of the sci-fi series to get them pumped for season 3.
The mini-episode begins with Spencer Grammer, Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon and Ryan Ridley sitting in a circle while Harmon presents the premise of the mini-episode. As Rick works in his garage, Grammer and Roiland talk about Summer Smith seeking the help of Rick for his college application process. Instead of helping Summer out, however, Rick focuses on his experiment involving Morty, in which he injects 120 cc's of feces into his knees and supplants his lower legs with jet packs.
Rick's experiment turns out to be so remarkable that the Harvard Dean of Admissions grants Summer a full scholarship.
As the episode continues, the cast recounts Summer's scholarship in Harvard and gaining a higher education. As she returns home, she discovers that the experiment has killed Morty.
However, Rick has already replaced him with a new version of him, who is just an eyelash drifting around the room. After a while, Nebutron, a demon, arrives and uses the new Morty to wish the garage into outer space, which brings viewers to the beginning of "The Rick and Morty Movie."
While many viewers deemed the mini-episode weird, no one can deny that it was hilarious and remained faithful to the madcap tone of "Rick and Morty." Moreover, it has succeeded in getting viewers even more excited for the upcoming season.
"Rick and Morty" is expected to return before the end of 2016.
