Ricardo Medina Jr. Murder Case News: No Charges Yet for Former Power Rangers Actor

Actor Ricardo Medina Jr. has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his roommate to death with a sword at their home in Palmdale California.

It was reported by the LA County Sheriff Department that Medina, 36-years-old, got into a physical argument with his roommate, Joshua Shutter, also 36, before stabbing him with a sword he carries in his bedroom.

"The department said Medina went into his bedroom with his girlfriend, but Sutter followed and forced his way into the room. Then, Medina allegedly grabbed a sword he kept next to the bedroom door and stabbed Sutter in the abdomen," writes Huffington Post.

Medina reportedly call 911 immediately and was taken in for murder at Palmdale Sheriff Station. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

For those that may not know, Medina played a Power Ranger in two iterations of the television series.

"The actor, who also performs under the name Rick Medina, is best known for two roles in the 'Power Rangers' series: He portrayed Cole Evans/Red Lion Wild Force Ranger in 'Power Rangers Wild Force' in 2002 and Deker on 'Power Rangers Samurai' in 2011-2012. His IMDb page also lists minor roles in 'ER' and 'CSI: Miami', writes Huffington Post.

Gar Lester, Medina's agent expressed his disbelief in stating, "He's been my friend and client for 12 years and he's a great guy. He's great to his dog, he's great to his people. He's really a super person."

Medina's case faced trial on February 3rd and it's been reported that he's been released under no charges as of yet. He's pleaded self-defense as Sutter forced his way into his bedroom.

"The L.A. County D.A.'s Office declined to charge Medina -- for now -- and instead asked Sheriff's investigators to dig for more information about the fight that ended with Medina fatally stabbing Joshua Sutter with a sword," writes TMZ.
