Retina MacBook Air Release Date Rumors: Apple to Launch New Device in 2015?
If latest reports are to be believed, Apple is likely to introduce the 12-inch Retina MacBook Air sometime during 2015's first quarter and this may possibly be the reason why rumors pertaining to Quanta Computer, which is in a collaboration with the Cupertino-headquartered tech titan in manufacturing the latter's notebook offerings, have been surfacing from time to time.
According to Christian Today, there are rumors that Quanta Computer is in the process of recruiting roughly 30,000 employees to increase its workforce for manufacturing the upcoming MacBook Air as well as the Apple iWatch.
Digitimes reports that sources close to the company said that the purported upcoming device will put an end to the current 11-inch model. On the other hand, the 13-inch MacBook Air will keep lingering. According to the report the upcoming 12-inch Retina MacBook Air come with a display renovation, in addition to having a higher resolution screen similar to what the Cupertino-based company did to recently-launched iPad and iMac. Several reports also suggest that diamond bezels will be cut back for a relatively larger display and a sleeker look.
Speculations suggest that the Retina MacBook Air will be amazingly slim and light build, as Apple is likely to do away with the MagSafe connectors and USB ports and instead incorporate a single USB Type-C port, making the USB inputs reversible as well as easy to use. However, it is expected that Apple will retain the headphone jack and a pair of microphones.
According to Stuff TV, the keyboard of the upcoming device will be extended to the edges of its body. At the same time, the keys will be sticking closer together. Moreover, the speakers will be placed above the keys. In addition, it will embed a visible grill just below the keyboard.
A completely new Broadwell Core M Processor will be placed just below the hood of the Retina MacBook Air, making the upcoming laptop even slimmer because it help to will do away with the need for a fan. It will also make the device more portable compared to its predecessors.
