'Resident Evil 7' VR Release Date, News: Title Increases Development Cost For High-Quality Game?
In line with Capcom's "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" Virtual Reality (VR) inclusion, it is revealed that the feature has increased development costs.
Capcom revealed that enhanced visual quality highly factored in to the actualization of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," its upcoming survival horror video game. In a statement, as cited by Video Gamer, Capcom's representative explained that certain things had been required in making the game VR-compatible, such as graphic needs that were more complex than before; thus, there has been an increase in development investment.
According to Capcom, they believe that they have succeeded in optimizing their development process through fundamental technologies, which include their 3D scanning system, lighting, and shading, which had let them to reduce additional costs while gaining high-quality enhancement.
A VR demo of the game was also shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. As per Game N Guide, some players claimed to be nauseated while some fainted while trying the gameplay experience. In addition to a promising virtual experience, the studio reassured fans that glitches would be fixed prior to the title's release next year.
With "Resident Evil 7" VR's rise in development funding, it is assumed that the price of the upcoming technology will be in direct proportion. In this regard, it is expected that Capcom's title will be able to successfully return to its horror roots and deliver a more terrifying gaming experience.
Developed and published by Capcom, "Resident Evil 7" follows the incidents in "Resident Evil 6" and it is set to introduce a brand new hero, along with a gameplay that revolves from a first-person point-of-view. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the studio is set to re-release "Resident Evil 4" on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
"Resident Evil 7" is set to be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows PC on Jan. 24, 2017.
