Rend Collective Interview at K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014: Band Excited by 'Best Live Show' Nomination (VIDEO INTERVIEW)
Folk rock worship band Rend Collective stopped by BreatheCast on the red carpet of the K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014 where they were all smiles about potentially winning an award for "Best Live Show."
"Oh yeah we're excited, we're just glad to be here," said lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Llewellyn when prompted about being nominated. He gave an emphatic "yes" when asked if he wanted to win the award.
The other artists nominated for the award were: For King & Country, NEEDTOBREATHE, Newsboys, Switchfoot, and TobyMac. TobyMac would later win the honor.
They were then informed the award was 30 pounds. When asked about who and how they would carry the award home, the lone female of the group quickly replied: "I mean, I already have a baby to carry," Ali Gilkeson, the percussionist and keyboardist, joked.
"I think we have room in our luggage there to go back to Ireland" replied drummer and leader Gareth Gilkeson. "I don't know if we have the weight allowance."
"If we win it I'll buy you luggage," joked Llewellyn.
The group, full of laughs and already enjoying their night before it even began, was looking forward to a night of performances. "Oh yeah, we are looking forward to the MercyMe guys," Llewellyn said after sharing that the band would have swing dancers during their performance.
Rend Collective had performed the day before, they joked that they could have had Irish folk dancers since they are from Ireland.
The band began to take in 2011 when they toured with Chris Tomlin, and now they are currently on tour with Kari Jobe.
The band has three albums, Organic Family Hymnal, Homemade Worship by Handmade People, and Campfire.
