Regina King News: Actress Wins Emmy for 'American Crime' and Taraji P. Henson Is Happy For Her

It was maybe one of the most memorable nights of the life of actress Regina King last Sunday night at the Emmy Awards especially since it was her first Primetime Emmy Award Nomination and the fact that she won with one of her closest friends who happened to be on stage with her to present the award and she's none other than Taraji P. Henson.

Last night was indeed a magical night. Of course King was absolutely happy about her win as the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie award for her role in 'American Crime' but it seemed like her reported BFF, Henson was happier as she was seen on stage to be screaming after she read the name of her friend in winning the award.

Although other nominees including Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson of American Horror Story: Freak Show, Zoe Kazan of Olive Kitteridge, Mo'Nique of Bessy were also great candidates, Henson was of course overly happy when it was her friend that got the award as she presented it on stage with co-presenter Terrence Howard.

Meanwhile, after the very obvious happiness of Henson as the presenter happened, King then made her way to the stage to accept the award. "I should have brought one of this papers all the comedy people had! I was not expecting this," King said as she received her first Primetime Emmy adding, "I'm just going to listen to all the love that surrounds me."

Of course, King mentioned her dear friend Henson saying "That Taraji and Terrence presented me with this is pretty special," she said as well as giving a shout out to her family, "My amazing mother and grandmother who have taught me the power and the blessing of being a woman," she gushed. "This is just absolutely amazing. My son, Ian, the fact that I get to share this night with you, the best date in the house. You make being a mother my greatest accomplishment. Cheers."
